Trying out firmware 2 on the Z8 - for small birds, it's just a massive improvement. First time I've really felt that the Nikon AF was on par with what I was shooting with on my former Canon R5 and R8, and maybe even better. Recognizes birds even in tough situations. A very high percentage of keepers on this short outing.

All are Z8 with the Z 400mm f/4.5 S + 1.4x TC:
