I was photographing Mergansers catching crayfish in mixed light and had my settings adjusted for a sunny spot. This bird came speeding by and I barely had time to point and shoot. I looked at the files on the back screen and they were pitch black. I was just about to delete them when I noticed the white bars on the wing were just showing through so I decided to wait till I got home to look at them. Certainly no work of art but that doesn't take away from the fact that this camera is magic and way, way better than me
I just received my Z9, and ran a few images from a series of very strong storms last night. One of the best images overexposed where the bolt came through the cloud base, which sometimes happens.
So many great images here, I'm almost ashamed to post mine!
I was using my Nikkor AF-S 20mm f./1.8 on the FTZ adapter, and not very pleased with the results, which were nowhere near as sharp or contrasty as they were on the D850. I think the Nikkor Z 20mm f./1.8 S will perform much better based on what I've seen.
Conkles Hollow again. My wife is severely disabled due to MS and she says that "Here, I feel the hand of God." It's impressive, as it was violently formed and eroded during the thawing of the last Ice Age. The green in the image is actually that green.
