A set from yesterdays walk at Brookgreen Gardens
George, your nature images are always outstanding and some are over the top. For me, the snake one is over the top!
What are the chances a snake would be peering back at the photographer through an opening in the lily pads? Wow! I am quite sure it is in the genus Nerodia (which includes a lot of water snake species).
How did you get this shot? Was it peering through the opening before you spotted it. Very interesting!

Thanks so much Bruce that really means a lot coming from you! I had been watching it for 5min or so and it was getting closer and closer and I wanted an image of it in front of the Lilly and low and behold it went under and then came up again where it did. I blasted several images but funny this was the first one!
Just for show and tell this was one of the earlier ones before it came out in front of the Lilly!
