These are wonderful images. It is too bad that Nikon no longer offers a macro lens in the 180 to 200mm range, maybe not so much for flowers buy for frogs, and butterflies and dragonflies and...
Thank you. That's one of the reasons I switched to the OM-1 and Olympus 100-400 for the subjects you mentioned. And the OM 90 3.5 macro is an amazing lens. I was hopelessly struggling with the 200 F/4 and manual focus.
Thanks! It will be a specialty lens for me, mostly for airshows or local birding/wildlife. Don’t plan on traveling with it much. It’s very good at those genres though it seems. I love the super short throw all the way to 600!

Very nice set!! How are you liking the lens so far?
These were shot early yesterday morning in what was rather comprimised lighting, but I thought the evolving subject was worth posting. All were shot with Z9 and 400 f/4.5 with 1.4X at ISO 1250.
New to me Z8 with a 105/2.5 AI-S for a walk around the neighborhood. A flower seems like a fitting good first picture to cross post here and for the MFNG thread with a new body.
Today is National Hummingbird Day! Just saw this so grabbed a few images of them to post. Not sure what lenses etc but all Z stuff, the exif will show all that!
