Taken in late March. I would have stayed so much longer if just to practice photography in all of the different settings.
In Shioiri Park with early cherry blossoms. My kingdom for a reflector! I could have used my own dress, but the sun was beating down and I wasn’t thinking straight.
Dusk at Odaiba Bay. The Tungsten-temperature bulbs along the boardwalk were impossible to resist as backlighting.
The Kimono Forest art installation at Kyoto’s Arashiyama Station.
Washing hands in the fountain for good luck.
After a series of misadventures, half of our group was dressed in Kimono without the rental studio’s promised photo session. We cruised through Ginza instead, which turned out to be a better backdrop — not to mention the amenable storefront lighting.
It was a lot to take in.
All was fun and games until we got hungry and realized that most restaurants were already closed. Google Translate can only get you so far…
WELCOME!
Japan is such a wealth of photo ops! Traditional clothing versus the latest "in style" wear blends well here. My only comment is that the beautiful woman is too purple, magenta..whatever.
I am enjoying a trip down the Ginza though!

Thank you so much!!
I agree -- I came back with so many shots that I'm just now really diving back in to see what I want to work on.
Thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it! Is the woman too purple/magenta in both shots? Right now, it's hard for me to distinguish between adjusting a photo for the proper tones and keeping some of the original cast if it seemed to fit the mood of the shot. I have adopted a "just go out and shoot" approach to learning these nuances since I tend to cling to researching before taking risks (even in art!).

Colored lighting, no matter where it is coming from always presents me with editing problems. #2 is the worse. Her facial tones in #1 appear ok. Maybe some touch up but that is your call. I just politely mention that. Not worth $.02
Again Welcome and keep on posting!
