A few from this morning; we got off to a late start because it was snowing, but it cleared off just before noon - unfortunately, the light (and the north wind) was getting a bit harsh by then.

This coyote popped up in tall grass right next to the trail I was on - managed this one shot before he disappeared - full frame, Z9 with 180-600 at 600mm

Wonderful Bruce !
Thank you Gary...
The well is very deep when it comes to the photos I took in Japan. I'm posting them slowly so not to overwhelm these threads.
I really recommend the trip I took, I consider the expense a bargain when I think about the photo experience and the accommodations.

Very interesting. I have to say that 2X looks much better than I would have expected. TFS.
Did you take a look at cropping in post to match the framing at 1200mm ?

Nahhhh , I'm just playing around. All images are uncropped with a little sharpness added in Lightroom. Lens is stopped down a bit. I wanted to compare against the 600 PF , but of course I didn't have it with me.
The 2x image is for sure a little fuzzy at full resolution.

If someone offered me a straight up trade right now, 180-600 for 600 PF, I would have to politely decline. To give up 180mm, 200mm, 300mm, 400mm, 500mm for a barely perceptible difference in IQ does not seem like a fair trade. And one pound difference in weight is certainly not a deal breaker for me. YMMV
