Maybe it's just me but this lens has something special going on in regards to oof backgrounds. Nicest subject separation from any other 6.3 lens I've used.

That's good to hear Bruce and lovely photos. As it's my main lens right now I'm obviously partial but the more I use it the more I like it. No mistaking it's versatility.

It is very hard to beat the versatility of the lens.
I always like to take all of my gear in the field, but the 180-600 was just too large when carrying my 400 f2.8TC. Now that it's been out of my bag for months, I remember why I liked it so much. As is the case with a lot of the Z lenses, this one over performs its price point
