Thought the sun was going to come out, just kept getting duller, that's Ohio! Take what you can and work with it .......... a few handfuls of images.
C&C always welcomed, thanks for your visit
I run into a lot of birds photographers that will only shoot on sunny days
but I find that most of my shots that have the most pop and character are on slightly full overcast days.
Preferably right after a shower or even during misty days with again full cloud coverage but not too thick.
You're photos prove that IMO. Pop and great detail!
Well done Karl!
Nice diversity of images Karl....
I really like the first composition with the 4 wood ducks on the branch.
I actually prefer days like this when the sun doesn't come out, as overcast light cuts your shadows and extends your shooting window. Your collection of images support my latter point.
cheers,
bruce

I agree Justin. Avoiding the harsh light is very effective and while you may have to work harder as paying attention to composition and background becomes even more important, many great images happen in these conditions. It's also fall, a great time for fog which can set a great mood for environmental portraits.
Terrific set of images Karl, love those Wood ducks in that first shot, very unique. What variety you've gotten, although I'm not a big fan of squirrels or chipmucks that #10 image is super.

Hey Bruce Thanks buddy the first was a long shot, hoped the crop would hold up as it looked pretty but it was at a distance.

Standouts: 1, 2, 4, 7 and 10. Bever marsh? A great varied set overall Karl that is very enjoyable. The sun is almost shining here today.
Morris
Appreciate the picks Morris. This was well West of Beaver Marsh a place called Sheldon's Marsh not far from Cedar Point Amusement park. Thanks and glad to hear your weather is coming back into shape after that coastal mess!

Thanks Louie and that chipmunk was just too cute to pass up, he was jealous the birds were getting our attention
