I was totally caught by surprise to see three River Otters pop up out in front of where I was alongside the pond. It was like a bow wave of a submarine coming across the pond when suddenly three heads popped up. I watched this group for over 30 minutes while they played and caught fish. In that 30-minute period I think they must have caught 20 or so fish (carp). I captured what action I could before they disappeared just as quickly as they appeared.
Wow Louie, what a great opportunity you got. I had a pretty good shoot with some otters in Yellowstone, but light was way to bright with reflections off the snow. One of them even caught a duck and ate it. Temperature was -27. Bruce

Hi Bruce, thanks. I've never seen them catch anything other than fish but know that they will eat almost anything that's in or on the water. Fun animals to shoot for sure.
