Very nicely done, Elijah! I like it in a square crop or portrait crop a little better though and crop off the very bright band across the bottom.

I would agree about the brightness at the bottom. The crop doesn’t bother me as much because I like to foliage on both sides. They provide a sense of place. Maybe this is one of those times where you “bend” the rules a bit!

An afterthought - rather than crop, simply use a linear gradient and tone the brightness down a bit.
