Does anyone know if the LH-12 hood will fit on this lens? I am asking because LH12 hood fits on 35mm Nokton and 28mm Ultron despite Cosina's website not saying so. I am thinking about trading in the 35 Nokton for the 28mm Nokton, perhaps keeping the hood. Many thanks in advance for your help!

I had the Z-mount version. It was good off-center at f/1.5 when shooting distant subjects (see image below). At close distances the sharpness w/open declines towards the borders/corners. I wasn't impressed by the out-of-focus background rendition at the wider apertures. I returned it.
Did you notice this in all corners, or could it be that your copy wasn't perfectly centered? At f/1.5, it's normal not to expect razor-sharp corners...especially with a lens this compact.

My sample at f/1.5 performed better in the borders at distance. The Nokton 28/1.5 doesn't have a floating elements design, so no surprise.
Anyway, I had to return my first sample of the 50/2 AL, and the 28/1.5 wasn't perfectly centered.
I am rather bothered by these quality control problems with Voigtlander lenses ...

I can say with confidence after testing numerous lens copies that things have improved a lot compared to the past. But as sensor megapixels keep going up, even small tolerance issues become more noticeable. A lens that seems perfectly centered on an 18MP sensor can start to show signs of decentering on a 60MP or 100MP sensor, simply because any tiny discrepancy is magnified.

In practice, however, this doesn't matter as long as you view the image as a whole and not split into zoomed-in sections or crop the image. I think this is something you should always keep in mind.

I partially agree. First, it depends on how much you enlarge (by printing) the image as a whole. Then, I have noticed that with (even slightly) off-center lenses, the out-of-focus performance can also visibly deteriorate.
For sure, I have A3+ prints of images taken with an APS-C camera & zoom where I can't see the border degradation as when I look at 100% on the monitor.

I think it really depends on several factors...like viewing distance, output size, medium, and intended use. Because of that, I don't think we can make broad generalizations. It's better to stick to the facts about a lens's shortcomings and let the application determine how much they matter.
LH-12/LH-4N (39mm) and LH-6 (43mm) are different groups you can tell by the filter size diameters.
I really like the Squarehood LH-6 replacement for the 28 1.5 and the color match is perfect.
I got mine from Tony at Popflash (Squarehood USA distributor).

Oh, that lens seems to be exactly what I am looking for but I still got some open questions.
First one is the balance on a Leica M10 with the Brass Type II version in silver. Would it be very front heavy? When you hold the camera strap with the camera and lens attached, will it tilt to the front?
I used to own the Zeiss Distagon 35m f1.4 ZM and that was the only reason I sold it. The camera was very front heavy and when I had the M10 on my neck, the camera was always tilting to the front, very annoying …
Second question is the comparison against the Ultron 28mm f2 II. I don‘t own that lens, nor do I have any experiences with it but many say it‘s the „best“ 28mm for M when it comes to value for money and the renderings superb. I own the Ultron 35mm f2 and I love the quirks and the busy / textured bokeh. Similar to Fred, I am now way more into busy / textured bokeh and not into smooth / Gaussian type of bokeh. That‘s why I sold the 35mm f1.5 from Voigtländer as it was too smooth, yet boring in my eyes. So - which of these lenses has a more busy / textured bokeh, how is the sharpness when both are on f2 - similar or „day and night“ difference?
I think this is all I have now, would be incredibly helpful to get some insights about this.
