Fantastic shots. Do you worry about blowing sand damaging a lens?
Thanks! First, I don’t change lenses when the wind is strong on the sand dunes. I had two camera bodies each with one of my main zoom lenses mounted so I did not have to worry about dust getting inside the camera or the rear lens mount. Second, I keep the cameras inside the pack zipped up until it’s time to make an image, and when I am done shooting that spot the camera goes back into the pack. Third, when I get back to camp I use a powerful electronic blower to completely blow off all the equipment and the inside and outside of my pack. Being careful in this way has so far prevented any problems shooting on the dunes.

Ross, what a spectacular set! Each and every image is brilliantly composed. The last image would be my favorite. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are doing well.
I really appreciate your encouraging comments, Parul! I’m doing well.
You are off to a great start for your 2024 shooting and look forward to seeing more!
Cheers,
Ross

1st & last are my favorites. You are much braver than I: in such conditions I leave my camera in the pack. You definitely got some keepers for your effort!

Thank you both!
Monika, I actually forgot to bring my electric air blower, when I get back home I’ll PM you the brand/model I have. It’s very powerful and works great, as long as an AC outlet is available.
