I traveled to Japan for 10 days in late February early March for some bird and snow monkey photography. First time for me to visit Japan. I spent 3 days in Tokyo area and the rest was in the Northern Island of Hokkaido. Self guided. Weather worked out great and I ended up with a lot of images. Still kind of going through them but here are a few that I like so far.
You dug deep to find that post, HAHA. Not so much that I solved it but Nikon's firmware updates have made great improvements. Focus still struggles a bit with busy backgrounds and with subjects near water but it is much better. In my opinion the Z9 camera with firmware 5.0 is a different camera then version 1.0. I have been surprised Nikon has not charged for the updates. Pre Capture, Auto capture and the focus improvements have been significant upgrades for sports and wildlife shooters.
Bob..
These are amazing. I am super jealous of your eagle interactions. Were you shooting these from a boat or the jetty? I spent 3 mornings on a boat, but was socked in by sea ice for 2 of the 3 days... there was no way I could handle my 400 f2.8TC from the boat...
Also, fantastic job with the snow monkey coming down the hill... wonderful expression and gorgeous light.
