Great work Dan. Looking fwd to more of your work with the 20-35.
Michael, simply beautiful. I'm now curious about the S lenses. I looked at the x2d ii but decided against it. The Fuji 100 system is amazing, well rounded and I simply couldn't ask for more if I am being realistic about AF in medium format and my intended use cases.

Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md.
Monument to Francis Scott Key the writer of "The Star Spangled Banner" is here where he, his wife and 1 daughter rest!
The Fall color at its last breath, brought out the brass "patina" of the monument.
Thanks!

Congrats!!!
I am sure you will love it and the combo also. I did post some images from this duo a few days ago. Not implying my images are any kind of "standard" for that combo..just visual what the camera can do in unexperienced hands.
Get your photos up so you can "coach" me!!!

Thank you, Dan - your support is appreciated. I shall spend 10 days in Costa Rica (in Guanacaste, on the Pacific Cost) from this Tuesday. This is going to be my first time traveling with the new camera as the main tool for everyday photography. If I succeed in getting a few good photos, I will share them in this thread, later in December. Although, if I wouldn't be able to bring back a few good photos with a camera as capable as the GFX100S II with the excellent GF20-35mm F4 zoom, then I shall commit seppuku!
I am also taking my OM-1 II with the 300mm F4 lens, just in case I should see some wildlife (although my interest in wildlife photography has greatly diminished lately).

Some photos from a recent trip to Costa Rica.
This was a family trip and not one of my photo trips..
GFX100sII with the gf 500 and the Canon EF 11-24
I am not much into Avian photography but I saw some of the most beautiful birds I have ever seen.

Sounds like a great plan!
I am glad you have a "backup" body with you. Personally, personally, I would take "duplicates" with each and just compare. The 100s ii is still a "learning in progress" for me even after almost a year. I do enjoy the 20-35mm( 2 wks old). Light and nice!
Await your compositions!

Just spectacular photography Michael! Wow! Costa Rica...whatta place for vibrance in the jungle! Beautiful, vibrant, tack sharp, feather detail...
The iridescence of the feathers is outstanding!
The house! What a "blast" to the eyeball prism.

Our 1st light 1" snow! Temps only at 29F at 10am.
Arcadia is a historic house located between Frederick and Buckeystown, Maryland. Erected about 1790, the house overlooks Monocacy National Battlefield.
The house played a role in the Civil War when in the days prior to the Battle of Antietam Confederate Colonel (later General) William Pendleton stayed at Arcadia. It later became General George Meade's headquarters in the time leading up to the Battle of Gettysburg. During the Battle of Monocacy General Jubal Early formed his troops at Arcadia.
The mansion is now deserted and pretty "run down". The sun was trying to come out and it was still snow flurries and light was very uneven.
