I recently drove up to Steptoe Butte on the Palouse in SE Washington. It's a popular destination as I was there on a Friday evening and as the evening progressed more and more people showed up. It was my first time photographing from there at 600mm so I was excited to see what I could get.
On the way there, I took a back road and saw a moose grazing in the distance. I had to stop and take a few images of him before heading to Steptoe Butte.
I think the most difficult part, after seeing my images, was dealing with the haze and getting the white balance correct in the process. Enjoy.
Back to take another look at these, Harold. It’s a superb set, you used shadow so effectively. Hard to pick a favorite but I lean toward 5, 6, 7.
I did not realize there were moose in the eastern WA region? I have photographed them in Wyoming and Utah and figured parts of Idaho may have some. Very cool.
