I was shooting a Screech owl nest, when the previous owner came to see if the squatters had left. Thank you for looking, appreciate all comments. Canon R5 and RF 600 +1.4.

This is a once in a lifetime shot John, it is IMO a rare capture, the eye to eye look here is spooky-cool!
Knock knock and 'Who' is in there Not sure which of the two were more surprised but this is a killer cool image, sweet!!

Hi Jeff. Thank you. I thought the woodpecker was taking a big risk. Mom and three babies were in that hole, I would have bet money he was gonna be dinner . Fortunately he flew away.
What an outstanding image. Perfectly shot and composed. I can’t imagine you had more than a second or two to capture the shot. And yes, I bet the woodpecker would have had to change it’s underwear if it wore any
