50mm is up for sale on BH
Ja, I saw that the other day but I'm waiting on the 35mm.
Funny, B&H acknowledges the version II lens but still have the old 35mm listed for order but only via telephone assistance, which is what I did due to the $750 sales price. I hope they honor the price for the version II as I am sure there will never be a version I anymore!

I grabbed the 50mm f/2 APO MK II, and the 65mm Macro while I was at it. Both are very, very good lenses. High hopes for the 35mm MK II. Also high hopes we get a native Z 110mm Macro or a newer 90mm f/2. Unsure Voigtlander has a wider APO in the works, but I could see a 24/25mm or as wide as 21mm f/2 APO going over very, very well.

I’m with you. 90 or 110 and 21 or 24. 15 is too wide for me as a prime.

Whelp, that didn't take too long. Voigtlander just announced a 90mm f/2 APO-Ultron for Leica M-Mount for a January release.
I suspect and hope we'll see this in E-Mount and Z-Mount not too far after that.
Now the real question is on the wide side. Curious if they can manage an f/2 longer focal length. But the 35, 50, 65, and 90 make a nice little kit and very flexible.
** edit and on a side note, really interesting lens design on this 90mm.

I just received the 35/2 APO II.
First impressions are good. I like how this new design looks. I would've liked if it still had the same weight as the original, but the 60g difference is still OK.
I don't think the longer focus throw will bother me. It's mostly because of the shorter MFD on version II. From infinity to 1 meter the throw is still short (which I like), from there until MFD it gets quite long. This allows to be more precise in those close ranges, where DOF is very thin.

Welp my 35 APO Gen I backorder ($749) fell through at B&H. They cancelled my order and offered a pittance of a discount ($50) on the Gen II.
So, does Voigtlander normally offer discounts at other times of the year, or with any frequency?

I doubt very much that this lens will come to E or Z mount. Cosina has zero Ultrons for E-mount and just one Ultron (and APS-C lens) for Z mount. In contrast they have 8 Noktons for E mount and 5 Noktons for Z mount. They clearly favor faster lenses to bring to mirrorless mounts. That said at 90mm the new M mount 90 f/2 Ultron APO ought to adapt very well and be a great option adapted on both E mount and Z mount. Of course it is notoriously hard to predict what Cosina will do, so I hope I am wrong but I wouldn't hold my breath for a Z mount version.

Camera Quest largely has the best prices. I buy exclusively from Stephen. His “used” section are just Amazon returns.

I am considering getting a Voigtlander 35mm APO-LANTHAR.
Option 1 is a new Z mount VII for $899
Option 2 Is looking for a Z mount V1 for around $700 or less
Option 3 is V1 E mount used for about $750
Is anyone using either VI or VII E mount on Nikon Z? If so which adapter smart or dumb? I currently have a megadap and a dumb E to Z adapter. Does either work? Is it worth it as I shoot both Sony and Nikon.
Thanks

MPB currently has like new v1’s for $719. They occasionally come up on for a bit less on the B&S. I would not bother adapting an E mount version unless yoh want to adapt other E mount lenses.

I believe either should work since the focus and aperture are mechanically-controlled. The smart adapter is better in the sense that there's electronic communication between camera and lens so information like EXIF will be recorded with correct lens information (also one less step software corrections in LR) and I believe the IBIS settings will also be adjusted accordingly since the focal length will be set automatically
