Congratulations to hasenbein for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 4 votes - View Previous Winners
I had the opportunity to again visit my beloved Dolomites.
This time the weather was unusually changeable with lots of clouds which often added much atmosphere. So, although rain and snow were also a hindrance multiple times, I had a great time!
I've only skied in the Dolomites (with photos being secondary to the ski trip), but I absolutely love them and photos like yours remind me that I absolutely need to go there for a photography trip. Very well done!
Hasenbein, these are spectacular! I spent 2 weeks traveling through Tuscany and up to Lake Guarda last October. The Dolomites are my next Italian adventure. Your shots make me want to start tomorrow! Were these taken recently?

Yes, between Oct. 3 and Oct. 7. Unfortunately on the first two days there was mostly heavy rain (and snow above about 1500 m), and because of the snow I couldn't do some things I had planned (sunrise at Tre Cime, hike to the viewpoint of Cadini di Misurina). But all in all much better than 2021 when there was only blue sky the whole time...

Thank you very much - if someone like you says that, it really means something to me.

That is kind of you to say
Sounds like you have been to the Dolomites several times? I photographed there in the Val di Funes about 15 years ago but have only scratched the surface, would love to return someday.
Yes, this was my 5th time. Always great to be there - the combination of awesome landscapes, great hikes, nice weather (mostly...), good food, nice people is simply unparalleled. Unfortunately the area is more and more overcrowded with tourists, especially in the summer.
Great impressive images, hasenbein. As a student in Germany I owned a Fiat 500 and with my girl friend we drove through that unique region several times. I still remember that I had to stop and adjust my carburetor about every 300 M elevation gain. But many years later I had the chance to ride the Dolomites on a Motorcycle however, all I have is a couple of boxes of slides. Would love to go back and make it a photo trip.
