Okay guys seeing my quality sucked on the last one, . I really wanted to see what I could do with the DJI OSMO 8. I used the Black Magic app vs the DJI app. I feel the quality is there on this one. I feel it is one of my best with Kenzie. I used the DJI Mic 3 for some of the audio. I completely wrote my own song lyrics and used AI to produce it. I clipped the DJI Mic 3 to her collar for some sounds of her walking and sniffing. I used the Freewell VND filter also on the entire video. This one took some effort but I think it was worth it. With what I seen today this can do, I think it will be great with some of our upcoming adventures.

Rob,
This video has a lot of improvement from the other one.
Anything else you did to raise the quality besides the Black Majic app?

The app was a biggie, needed to understand it better. I also baked in the LUT into the other video by mistake, that seemed to hurt that one. This one I used Apple Log 2 and applied a Rec 709 LUT with some tweaks. Much better result. I got much more comfortable with the tracking and focus. Overall I am very happy with it.

No worries Rudy.
I figured it made sense to post this here as it is my C50 Rig.
I got my Kayak all worked out today how I want my camera rig setup. This should work out great. This is a ReelYaks Kayak here is the link https://reelyaks.myshopify.com/?ref=rob_lavoie
This kayak is a 2 piece design to make it a bit more portable. It also has a pedal drive which I will not use during using the camera gear.

Rob,
Looks like a great set-up. Looking forward to seeing your work using this.

Had a few Pied-billed grebes give me some opportunities to video them swimming in late March-early April at Ted Shanks C.A. in Pike county, Missouri.
Canon R5 MKII RF200-800 4k processed to 1/2 speed.

A closeup look into the Great Horned Owl nest with one Owlet. The natural sounds were recorded at the time of the footage with the Comica V40 mic. The nest is not completely open but gives it the environment feel they live in. I used the Canon R1 with the RF 400mm f2.8 with the 2.x extender. Recorded in Clog 2.

I enjoyed watching this Rob.
I have never watched an owl nest in person, so a treat for me.
Do you remember the aperture you used.
A little more depth of field would have increased my watching enjoyment.
But sometimes that is impossible. I'm sure that young one did not take direction well!

Thanks Dave, I was at f5.6. The issue I had was all the branches, as the sun got brighter the foreground branches you could start to see ghosting a bit. If I when up to say f8 which I agree would have been better for both owls. I feel those front branches would have ruined the footage. It was a tough location at the nest but fun to see.

This guy loves the C50 as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the full video he just made on it in the Mara:
Edit: BTW, when are you going to get yourself to Africa? You have to get over there.

This is getting really crazy really quick with all the AI stuff, but I guess I'll soon benefit from the ease of creating a film with text to edit, when I can tell Da Vinci to take my footage and create a full edit for me that' similar to "x" video with pacing, color grading, audio, etc. Then a whole template will be created which will make it much quicker to learn all the idiosyncrasies of a complex edit. Also, looks like BM is going after Adobe LR users. This competition could be just what we need as it evolves into a better RAW processor:

Thanks for posing the videos, however after seeing them I realized my C50 is broken and does not produce videos like that, . Amazing footage, people and place.
We are thinking Africa in 2028, 2027 we have Brazil trip planned. We have an elderly pet that needs a bit extra so this year has been limited or with trips that included her.

I am an Adobe guy so is DaVinci better for those that have used both? I understand the cost thing, more interested in the product. I hate the idea of learning a new program if I am being honest. I find the video programs take some serious time learning them, at least for me.

Some footage of mom feeding her Owlet. I really enjoying watching their interactions with each other. All sound was at the time of recording with the DJI Mic 3. I used the Canon R1 in Clog 2. Edited in Adobe Premier

Nice view of the nest!
They really had a time with the stringy meat.
Looked and sounded great.
