Had a good day photographing a few of these owls.
We saw 9 great greys, and a couple of boreal owls.
I've had the best two days of my life photographing owls during the last 3 months.
I hope it continues through the winter.
Killer shots! Sharp and detailed for sure! Hard to pick a fave - but fourth pulls ahead slightly, right behind the second one. Like many others - on my bucket list to get in a position to hopefully spend some time with these majestical raptors.

Sweet frames Dave... TFS...I'd love to find and shoot these great grays at some point...
This could be your year.
This is an irruption year. The last time the shooting was this good was in 2005.
Back then, I didn't realize that it didn't happen every year.
In 2005, the owls were around the north shore area until mid March.
We're hoping that holds true this year.
A friend and I were going to spend a couple of nights in Duluth Mn, but
we took so many shots in the 8 hours we were there, (5000 and 8000) that we figured we'd just take some day trips.
Check weather apps and pick the warmer days, or the snowy days if that's what you'd be after.
This Friday, the high should be around 35 degrees, by Monday, the high is -5.
Guess what day I'm going.
