Congratulations to hasenbein for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 4 votes - View Previous Winners
We here in Northern Germany are not exactly spoiled with great weather conditions. So it was very exciting recently that we had an inversion weather pattern with frosty temperatures which led to fog swaths drifting through the landscape the whole day long (!) - and this in turn resulted in some gorgeous hoar frost! I felt so lucky that I had the time to hike on that day and witness these really special conditions. Nuff said, here are some pics.
great pictures. like that you controlled the whites well to bring out detail. really like pictures 2,3, and 6. thanks for getting out in the weather and sharing them with others.
Hassenbein, one of the best winter sets I’ve seen in a long time, each one is gorgeous, impossible to pick a favorite. I would love to have been there shooting. Definitely earns my vote for Feb. 21 TOTW!
By the way: These photos are all taken with an A7RV and the Tamron 50-400. That lens was on the camera for the whole hike; it is really a favorite of mine.
Thank you very much for your "Featured thread" vote, guys!
That's the exciting thing with photography: You set off in the morning with your buddy, expecting a totally average day of hiking. But it turns out completely different...
Note to myself: Don't have expectations. Simply bring your camera.
I missed these? Lovely captures. The other images set the tone nicely for the outstanding images of #3 and the last. A truly great series Congrats on your Feature Win as well!
