Thank you, Jose! But I have seen plenty of wonderful American Kestrel from you that I envied. I would like to photograph that bird.
True, the peregrine falcons at this location are something else and they put up excellent shows for quite sometime. The resident male that fathered several generations disappeared. The female didn't warm up to a younger male that came after him. Then that younger male disappeared again. Finally, the current male seems to fit the bill. They mated yesterday already. It is very soap operaish 😂 here.
Thanks Joshua, I'm a bit spoiled with access to American Kestrels, I had three of them show up the other day which was pretty crazy given that they are becoming more and more rare.
Falcon behaviour is pretty interesting for sure, the male Kestrel that I photograph quite a bit has become really indifferent to the female lately, she will often call out to him, fly over to his perch to mate and more often than not he'll fly-off to another perch, he's playing hard to get for sure.

R35 American Kestrel had a new male visit his territory yesterday, this particular males has some striking breeding plumage including a very defined rusty red cap.
