Great Horned owl returns to its favorite nest after a bunch of sadistic vandals destroyed the nest last year. The local photographers/birding community is just thankful that she decided to nest there again.
Wow! Iconic is right! This nest must be protected so that it can continue on each year.
Can you say anything more about what is being done to prevent the sadistic vandals from damaging it again?
How on earth could anyone get joy out of destroying a nest like this? We’re all very pleased that she decided to nest here again. Mother nature is amazing! Beautiful images. 👍🏻

A group of birding volunteers who live close by literally were taking rounds to protect the nest. I am also told that the AZGFD and another body is aware of the issue.

It is unbelievable that someone would do that for the sheer greed that no-one else should get shots there. All the birding community here are very relieved now.
What a truly remarkable and thoroughly enjoyable set!! Shame on the vandals for destroying the nest. Confirms why I have a tee shirt that reads - I use to be a people person until people ruined for me-
