The new magnetic mount is pretty darn nice however if you have an older GoPro (8 and forward) you can purchase an (HSU Replacement Folding Fingers) and use the same quick release connectors whopping $14, 4 screws and 3 minutes of your time🙂
I also tested a bunch of 3rd party Magnetic Quick Release Mounts. VRIG has the absolute tightest tolerances and the mount to camera is wiggle free unlike some of the others HSU/ReyGeak and the likes. Only downside, and it's slight, is snapping the camera on requires just a bit more attention for that solid connection. The other brands which allow just a bit of wiggling snap on much easier (makes sense). The other brands by no means will allow the camera to come off, just a bit of movement/wiggle. This probably matters for those that are mounting this in extreme bumpy conditions like an ATV or dirt bike and hitting the trails hard or where vibrations of any sort come into play.
