I paid $4,500 for this unit, and that came with significant risk. There was always the possibility that my order could be seized by customs, meaning I could have lost my entire investment.
Given the unpredictability—some shipments make it through, others are delayed for up to 90 days, then sent back to the seller or shipped to the customer; some are even reported as seized—it’s a chaotic and uncertain process. In that context, I believe a 25% mark-up fairly reflects the risk I took to secure this item state-side, with the ability to securely deliver it to you. If you disagree with my price, I respect your decision. I am in return asking you to respect my decision to keep my asking price firm.

I understand the complaint, but If you're comfortable putting up the $4,500, and you're fortunate enough to make it through customs without delays—without having your funds tied up for several months while waiting on a refund because the shipment was returned to the seller, or being charged a tariff on top of your $4,500, or even losing your money altogether due to seizure—then by all means, proceed. That said, given those risks and potential costs, I imagine it’s unlikely you’d return to the forum and list it for $4,600.
For context, B&H currently lists this item (minus the ND filters) for $4,650 before tax, which will likely come out to around $4,950. However, they’re still waiting on DJI to release inventory for the U.S. market.
In the meantime, I’m offering mine for about $250 more than B&H’s base price—but it’s available now, ready to use, so you can start creating, filming, and earning right away.

I bet some of the Lecia guys might buy it though. They have deep pockets and usually live in the rich cities in CA or something. But it needs to have some kind of limited edition tag on it or the Lecia folks are not interested. They are collectors...I guess. I dunno never understood Leica.
Not complaining. I always wanted a mavic but now is not the time lol. For 5k I think I would rather have the Sony 300 2.8 but can't justify that price for the 300.

This supply and demand stuff....this is how starter houses got to be 500k and nobody under 40 can afford a starter house. Basically gotta be a boomer to afford anything. Gen-z will be forever renters.

@pplskills, You've painted a very vivid picture of the Leica community. Your description reminds me of many BMW enthusiats. Thanks, for making my day! Yeah, today's market is about $1.000 inflated, due to the impact of the tariffs.
