Despite finding the hummingbird nest, I too am seeing less Ruby's this year in Kankakee County, Illinois. Have not photographed one male ruby. Your shots are terrific as usual
Again, congrats on the nest, nesting and mom. Don't know why the reduction in hummer activity. Thanks for your commenting.

I am actually seeing less of everything that flies the last few years. Robins that usually stay in Maryland until October, have been leaving in August or earlier it seems.
JUst FYI..

Thanks again.
Ted
I was outside watering my flowers and looked for robins. I have NOT seen a robin since May. Cardinals yes, hummers yes..no robins! That's crap!
This has been thee hottest summer I can ever remember!
Again GREAT images brother!
Dan
Holy smokes! Killer shots from start to finish! 2, 3, 4, and 5 for my faves...but all superb. Sharp and colorful is the theme on this set!
Unfortunately it's been the quietest I can recall regarding hummingbird activity this year. I was chalking it up to our lack of yard prep and setting the conditions to attact activity...but looks like we're not the only ones.
