When I was in SE Asia Charles, I was located in the western portions of northern S. Vietnam along the western A-shau valley to the Laotion border. The indigenous peoples, the Montagnards and Hmong peoples, have that very dark skin and eyes and very shy look. Not Asian looking.
My camera then was only a Kodak Instamatic because the heat and humidity would destroy a camera and film in a matter of hours. So I rarely carried one. Plus I was not in very photograpical(?) places.
But on 1 occasion my team passed by a Montagnyard(French for mountain people) village and 2 very young girls, sisters, were on the road. The youngest was very very shy and was hiding behind her elder sister...we were the 1st Americans they had seen.
I did get a photo and it was one of the very few that survived 2 years in that environment. A smile and some chocolate went along way that day!
My point being...their very brown color, their deep dark eyes really struck me and they brought a smile to an otherwise, grumpy dirt stained face! Sorry to verbalize so much..your image spoke to me!
