I was fortunate to watch a hunt and Lion kill. Honestly it was hard to watch. We followed 5 Lions-- 2 dominate females and 3 cubs age a bit under 2 years I believe. It was just prior to sunset. They crossed a marsh and -- well the photos will tell the rest.
They attacked the bag legs and throat. Did not let go. I think the one image-- one of the cubs accidentally grabbed the intestine. It did smell and in general they tend to avoid as it attracts visitors-- e.g. hyenas.
I had a pretty good idea from the title who was going to win... that was a pretty brutal take down, but as they say, everyone's gotta eat! Hopefully the Zebra was put out of its misery faster with the multiple lions than if it had been just one lion... not much of a consolation to the Zebra, I know, but work with me here folks, heh.

I estimate from some videos I took-- perhaps about 5 to 6 minutes. Yes I do realize they have to eat but hearing the Zebra screaming.. Interestingly, a group of about 5 or 6 elephants stood side by side. I heard they will sometimes try to break things up early on but by the time they got there it was too late.
