The camera tells you the shutter count of the lens. Just mount and go to About. Any “body” count is irrelevant and non-existent.

"Any “body” count is irrelevant.."

Thanks. I would disagree. Even though the body does not contain a shutter, it would still be nice to know the number of times the shutter button was used as you could then infer overall usage for that body (even if it had been well cared for). The EVF and LCD screens can go bad and do have a useable lifetime I guess. Everything experiences wear eventually - buttons, dials, contacts, you name it. You might also get an idea of the battery life.

I know what you're getting at, but this is almost like asking for a shutter count for a shutterless A1ii...there's no metric that means anything except total time turned on, and even then, that's largely meaningless. I could sell you an A1ii that has shot 10,000 hours of video and never taken a still images and it would appear as a new camera to the stills side.

It's a bit of handwringing that has little foundation in actual experiences. Usually electronics show up good or bad, and unless you're buying a 20 year old camera, these things aren't often issues. Buy clean, insure, shoot. Life is way simpler than most people make it.

I hear you. The video example does not apply to modern Blads I guess. Of all makes, I would expect Hasselblad to have this number (shutter or actuation counts) for the body since - long ago - they did provide this info for MF CCD digital backs that did not contain a shutter. I'm guessing their 907+CFV do not offer an actuation count either.

Does anyone know whether L-brackets for the X2D fit OK on the X2D II?

I've found that screen protectors are interchangeable, but was wondering if anyone has both cameras and has swapped an L-bracket from the old to the new.

I had no problem with my RRS regular plate which wraps around the base, so I bet it will since the left side is pretty much unchanged. I thought I was out of screen protectors and found two in a drawer, nice to get that out of the way.

It felt good to plug the Hassy remote in after not having it with the X2D, I kept it incase I got another CFV back which I may do at some point.

Anyone remember if there were fit and finish downgrades between the X1D and X1D Mark II? The ones popping up on Reddit seem minor but I’m curious if there’s product line precedent.

Anyone have ideas as to an easy way to tone down the shutter release button?

I feel as though the whole camera is muted blacks and grays and then there is a big shiny game show buzzer button sticking out on top.

Watching everyone frantically trying to unload their X2D bodies for $6500 on Reddit and Marketplace......oh dear.

The orange "dot" is Hasselblad's trademark; it has been there on the H series as well.

Not really. If it were a better way I'm all in. But like anyone I like what I like.

I use manual and auto ISO and lot onmy cameras, especially for wildlife. I like shutter at the front aperture on the lens and ev comp on a rear dial so I can change it quickly and dynamically. Holding down a button is neither of those. And you have two things, the lens ring and the front dial, both doing aperture. Sony and Canon are both better because they have a third dial. I'm not going to have the lens doing

The Av mode with Auto ISO has become more convenient with Mark 2, as you can now change the shutter speed limit with a press of a button. The main reason why I use M-mode with Auto ISO is that it is typically slow to change the shutter speed limit. Now, I will probably use M-mode only when I want to shoot with exposure simulation turned off.

They're selling for around $5,500 with accessories here on Buy & Sell and I expect the price to head even lower. For many people, it's worth spending the extra $2K to get the new model with all the upgrades, whether for work or for personal enjoyment.

I dislike that the H is now a cheap application instead of being engraved into the button.

Didn't read the full thread so apologies if this has been discussed before, but Phocus 4.0 actually unlocks HDR editing for older bodies as well. I just played with some H3Dii RAW files and the extra headroom in the highlights is pretty nice!

Implementation / UI is fine, still Phocus after all.. +4 Stops seems a bit excessive tbh, but you can limit it to something more moderate like +2 Stops.

UHDR JPGs do display correctly on my MBP, but not on my iPhone.

So far, downloaded new FW and then FW for all V lenses. Put the Phocus App on my phone and once paired all downloads ran through the phone including lenses.

Started to set it up to my liking. Nothing special I do, so far experimenting with A setting and have histogram, AFc and tracking people active. Now to actually use it.

It is quite easy to use and navigate through menus even though I have never owned an X2D before. Follow focus so far seems to stick well. Use rear wheel to change EV as it was setup by default. I also like the default setting for the button under the joystick for quick changes to focusing settings. 100% zoom works as expected. I just can't get over how large that rear LCD actually is. That reminds me I must look for a protector for it.

My 135/2.8 will not have follow focus of the time being it seems, but so far all other features work with it.
Have not ventured into the world of HDR which also seems unavoidable since it is showing HDR active on the main screen.

This brings up a good question. Why do certain lenses have continuous autofocus upgrades and others don’t? Is it yet, or never? Is the answer dependent upon the speed of the focusing mechanism, or the speed of the programmers moving to include other lenses?

Can anyone comment on how fast you can move around the focus point using the joystick?

My X2D II came in.

Quick observations and notes from an X2D owner:

- New material/finish is different. You may mistake it for plastic, it is not.
- Body Color, I would call it a dark gray, but I won't hesitate to say I like the color the X2D more
- Subtle Hasselblad branding, no paint or laser engraving on the front, is likely a good move for most
- Camera feels a bit lighter weight
- Body Doors did receive a nice little update. For us CFexpress card users, you'll notice that for sure
- New Grip Pattern is fine, I'd say a bit less aggressive on the palm perhaps
- Joystick is nice and responsive for moving your focus point, nice addition
- Custom Button is well placed, also nice addition
- LCD Quality, interesting differences between models, but this I'd say is an improvement
- LCD Articulation, major improvement in my opinion for waist level and above head framing
- GUI/HUI, generally things feel a bit snappier compared side by side with the X2D
- EVF Sensor, ever so slightly faster
- EVF Quality, I personally wouldn't mind a higher resolution one, but this works just fine
- AF-C surprisingly good, but as always it will depend on your subject and lighting to a degree
- Subject Tracking, also pretty impressive and I see now where LiDAR comes in, not just in lighting, but also in tracking speed. Sensor refresh rate isn't the fastest for PDAF, I suspect LiDAR is helping here as well. More testing to know for sure.
* Tested AF-C and tracking on 25, 38, 55, and 90 XCDV Series Primes.
- Sensor Calibration did take a bit longer compared to the previous model, my first one was 17 minutes
- Relief and happy to have a physical Shutter Release Port again. Will test that shortly.
* Technical tests compared to previous model between now and next week, just so I know a few things
- I "mentally" like ISO 50 as a lower sensitivity starting point.

I can see some taking a minute to adapting to the Joystick and Custom Button placement. But I will say for moving your focus point, and especially while magnified, it's a big improvement. Touch screen can still be used or disabled for that as well.

No notes on IBIS yet, but I'll dig into it, performed a hilarious low ISO test shot tonight just to see if I can do it. Though I generally approve the way CIBA testing methodology works for defining how many stops, I do like to remind people that you yourself move different potentially than the hexapod shaker tester as well as the subject matter. If you are trying to pull off a 2 second or longer exposure handheld and hoping for critical sharpness, a tripod is still the right tool for the job. But if you know what you're doing and can concentrate, it's amazing what you can do.

Tip on first startup. Put on a good show, movie, or some music and take your time setting up the camera the way you want with the controls. Then download the firmware for your camera and applicable lenses. Keep the camera on for 5-10 minutes before you do the Sensor Calibration. Run the Sensor Calibration after you update the camera's firmware in case they update anything crucial there.

Open to any questions. Shooting all weekend tests and other with both the new and the older camera.
