We all have favourites that may change over time, but what is the lens that will have to be 'prised from your cold dead hands'?
Doesn't have to be the most exotic or expensive lens, but one that you can't bear to part with.
Just wait a couple of days for the rigor to end and it will be easier.
I'm not sure what the coroner's office would think if the victim is found clutching a 500/4.
Cheating outrageously (as have some others) it would be a difficult choice between a Zeiss Contax trio - 28, 45,90 each M mount adapted - and a Voigtlander trio - 65, 125, and 180

Very cool thread. Here are the results so far . . . .
I guess that you missed RoamingScott's commendation of the Voigtlander 35/2 APO-Lanthar on page 3.
FWIW, although I like both the Loxia 25 and the Voigtlander 50 APO a little more than the 35, the 35 is my most-used lens due to its focal length--so that would be my choice, too.
Voting for the Sony 50mm f1.2, I purchased it second hand and thought I'd give it a shot; I find for general photography I'll look at the 35GM and 50GM, and always pick the 50GM.
