The story goes like this. A middle-aged guy took his teenage daughter out for a driving lesson right after she got her Learner's Permit. After about an hour of driving around the neighborhood and having several close calls, something dramatic happened that scared the guy to death. His daughter freaked out and ran off and the guy's been in the car ever since. I think this happened around 1956. True story.
