I haven't noticed CA on the edges but I haven't been looking for it. I do have what seems to be field curvature at distance, even at small apertures, with the left and right sides. Funny, a brick wall test shows very good even performance at F1.4. I don't think I'll ever need those outer portions sharp but I'll work on it a bit more and see what I can get.
Does the field curvature mean you see soft edges for landscape shots where focus is near infinity?

Interested to see how this lens stacks up against the cheaper Samyang/Rokinon 12mm f/2 for astro shooting. Also, do I need to worry with Sigma about copy variation?

Essentially, this lens isn't that great for landscapes it sounds like.
It's intermittent and a little elusive. Maybe decentering or an out of spec copy variation. Could be AF, user errors. It is slight, however and not crucial. I still prefer the overall image output over the 14 and the size vs. the Viltrox 13.

I have the Samyang 12mm f/2 and curious how it compares to that lens actually, for both astro and landscapes when traveling.

I haven't owned the Samyang 12 in quite some time. I do really like the convenience of the Sigma for AF for closer work. It's size makes it just as excellent for travel. Not sure about astro but it's likely covered in the online reviews.
I had the Rokinon version of the MF 12/2, and it was a solid lens. However, I am not an astro guy, nor much of a landscape guy. Regardless, as Matsu said above, the IQ, size/weight, and AF are enough to make this an awesome addition to the kit.

I was reading a few reviews (Dustin Abbott, LensTip) that the corners on this lens isn't as sharp as the center, which seems to be confirmed by a few posts on this thread. However, I'm not sure if that relates to shooting wide open (personally, only for astro) or when stopped down as well (landscape). Also, with ML cameras, I don't really need AF since I would use MF for astro/landscape anyway.
I may hold off a bit just to get more reviews about my use cases. The Sammy 12/2 is working just fine. This Sigma is just a simple case of GAS lol

It is almost universally true that lenses will be less sharp in the corners than in the center at any aperture and that the difference gets smaller as you stop down.
The requirements are somewhat specialized for astro photography. (Something I do little of these days.) Good overall sharpness at larger apertures like f/2.9 or f/2 is more important, corner sharpness can be more of an issue, and coma is a concern ,too.

I had a chance to play with it a bit yesterday. I tried focusing on a further distant point and the results were much better across the frame so no decentering. For landscapes and sharpness at both far and near I will likely need to pay more attention, something that I've neglected in general of late. For close images and wider apertures I'm thoroughly impressed.

Has anyone compared to the Sigma 10-18mm f2.8? I'm interested in downsizing from the Fuji 10-24mm f4 and the Sigma 12mm f1.4 and 10-18mm f2.8 are the top contenders.

I recently sold the 10-18. Very good lens as well, imo. I think the 12mm is a little punchier but it could be just my preference. Both are nicely sized. I did the swap because I wanted to separate the focal lengths with an addition of the XF18 1.4. And I wanted the aperture ring.
