While walking to a metro station after going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, we passed by a small, dark little park. I took what I thought was a throwaway shot because the light was so bad. I saw the ISO climb to 16,000 and thought, I'll just take one shot. It surprisingly turned out better than I expected.
I have also just ordered one. I have a trip to the Sequoias this week, we will see how it does. I'll also be bringing my Tokina 20mm. Excited to see how I like the difference in FOV, I've never had something so wide.
Sorry if this has been asked already, but is it normal for the camera body to delay the shot after pressing the shutter, by up to a second? It only happens when I'm stopped down beyond F4. At F4, the shutter is instant, but F8 for example, I press the shutter and nothing happens for like 1/2 or 1/4 of a second. Longer as you go to F16 for example.
Happens on both my A1 and A7RV. Images come out fine.
I use Cokin P filters, the standard yellow ones, and the multi-plate holder fits in the frame. I bought a single-plate holder, and it doesn't interfere.
Naturally, the square Cokin hood can't be used with either lens.
No delay on my A7RIII and A7V, it behaves like other lenses from Sony and Tamron.

1) it does have a bit of vignetting, but not too bad (in my opinion)
2) very sharp throughout most of the frame, super impressive
3) I don't know how to use this FOV yet
Thanks for the feedback (and thanks to Ross in the other thread).
I reached out to Viltrox. They said it's not normal and they are aware of the issue/working on a remedy. Unfortunately I bought the lens a few months ago on Amazon when it was on sale and didn't use it much to discover the issue until it was too late. Hopefully they come up with a fix for meeee. Maybe they'll be kind enough to swap it out if I ask, tho they don't owe me that lol.
