p.1 #1 · After the Fire, Beneath the Stars

I went out last night to a burned area of trees under a perfectly clear night sky and decided to bring them back to life with a splash of light painting. The Milky Way was blazing overhead and even a faint meteor made an appearance. It’s always fun when experimentation pays off — red and violet tones gave the scene an almost otherworldly feel. Feedback welcome on whether the balance of natural sky light vs added color works for you.

Nice! You've created a visually arresting image. I've tried this a couple of times and it's fun but not easy. Good stuff and nice natural looking milky way.

Thank you Derrick, I really appreciate that! It took a bit of trial and error — I was trying to keep the Milky Way exposure clean while bringing just enough color into the trees. Always fun experimenting with light painting out in the quiet. Took a look at your Flickr page, nice images on there!
