Looking at mine, there is very little white area to cover for the cost they might charge for skinny straps. I would never cover the zoom and focus rings as that looses the grip feel.
I might make my own lens hood cover with neoprene like we did for the 150-400mm.
The white is special heat resistant coating to keep the lens and elements inside cooler.
I saw a company that has a tape like product that is thin and can be removed. If you are worried with the white color you can search out such.
*I like the idea of stitched edges to prevent fraying.
I asked LensCoat why they didn't stitch their edges.
They responded that the elasticity will be gone if the edges are stitched.
The cover is not available in the USA through OM and I tried Huga's website and it is not listed at all. I will email them and ask if they will ship. So few countries will ship individual products to USA right now because of tariffs and customs delays. I have had things stuck in customs for months this year.
Why bother, especially on a zoom, when they can restrict easy access to buttons and switches? As pointed out, there is a reason for white for certain lenses:
I prefer them for protecting the lens body from scratches and light impacts more than anything. I rarely use the pieces that go over the buttons or cut the clear plastic window out. Keeping the lens bodies in good shape helps resale value. As I am currently switching from Nikon to OM, I would estimate the $$ I have received for my Nikon lenses is significantly higher than it would be if they had scratches or wear spots. It is for this same reason that I often use a clear filter on the front lens element when I am in situations that are high risk like hiking in heavy brush or at the ocean.
