X-E5 Auto ISO

p.1 #1 · X-E5 Auto ISO

Just noticed that the X-E5 doesn't show the actual ISO selected by the camera in AUTO ISO in the EVF.

It only shows the highest value set for the AUTO ISO setting, which turns from blue to white when half pressing the shutter. My X-E3 shows the actual ISO selected when I half press the shutter button. Is there a setting somewhere for the X-E5 that I miss? Or is it something Fuji needs to look at and fix?

Knowing the actual ISO setting that the camera selects in AUTO ISO mode I find is important.

My X-E5 shows the chosen ISO when half-pressing the shutter, same as all my other Fujis.

I’ve never changed any setting to make that happen.

I actually dislike that you have to press the shutter to see the chosen ISO, but that’s another story.

Thanks. I may have to reset my X-E5.

Edit: After reset, it works again. Now need to find out what setting cause the change.

I’ve noticed that too, it’s definitely different from how the X-E3 handles it. On the X-E5, it only shows the maximum ISO limit you’ve set, and when you half press the shutter, the number just changes color instead of displaying the actual ISO being used. I’ve dug through the menus and setup options but there doesn’t seem to be a way to make it behave like the older models.

It might just be how Fuji programmed the new display logic on this body. Hopefully, they address it in a firmware update because, like you said, knowing the exact ISO the camera’s choosing in Auto ISO is pretty useful, especially when you’re trying to understand how it’s metering in tricky lighting.

Just reset the camera. Worked for me. Don't know what setting caused the issue, though.

Same here. Half-pressing the shutter shows the chosen ISO. I've had the camera for only a couple of weeks, and it's been like that since day 1.
