I have a Canon 580EX Flash. Will it function on the OM-1 MKII?
Will I damage the camera if I try it?
I have the Canon AD-E1 multi-func hot shoe to older 5 pin hot shoe adapter.

It probably will not work via TTL, the pins do different things. You can use it with a non dedicated remote unit in manual mode.

I can confirm the 580EX does work on the OM1 in manual mode only. I can set the manual output. Broke down and got the FL700WR flash that is very nice and it will slave to the tiny flash that comes with the camera on the RC mode.
