This great blue heron was standing in a partly concealed spot when I first saw it at Oakland Lake here in New York City. As I made multiple orbits of the lake, it moved out into a place with a better view and where I could get closer totally blurring out the colored leaves floating on the lake's surface.
Nice work on the GBH Morris. That white lower cheek patch is so hard not to blow out in the mid-day sun around here, but you found some nice light to get all the deets.
