I just received the lens. Comparing it to my Touit 32mm f/1.8 and Voigt 35mm f/1.2 Nokton. The macro is larger than the Nokton and has the aperture ring near the body. Sharpness and contrast at the wider apertures is ahead of the Nokton. I think the Nokton flares less than the macro. Both Voigt lenses are better at sunstars than the Zeiss. For scenery, the macro is at least as sharp as either of the others.
I have not done extensive testing so these first impressions are subject to change.
I think I like the ergonomics of the macro better than the Nokton. It is a tad easier to focus, a bit bigger to handle, and has a nice feeling aperture ring up against the body where I'd normally expect it.
On close up pics, the macro is nice and sharp with good contrast.
Oh, and yes, it shows f/22 in EXIF when shot at f/2. Bummer.
