Can you say/see if it is the same as in the Sony A7IV?
Yep, essentially the same specs with regard to refresh rate and resolution.

I got the 15.1ms from the written review on DPReview.
Either way it is in that borderline range for moving subjects. Some will be fine. Others not. Leaning lines guaranteed during a fast pan like a BIF with trees or grass in the background.
Very possible it is 15.1 in stills, though both 14.67 and 15.1 are almost equally underwhelming for my taste.

Btw. I've read several times now that the Sony A7V is essentially a smaller version of the A1II. What exactly is better about the A1II compared to the A7V? And does the A7V perhaps have any advantages over the A1II (besides being cheaper of course )?
A1ii will still have significant advantages like number of AF calculations per second (and everything else that benefits from a much faster sensor readout), larger buffer, more resolution, higher res EVF, and other video features like recording time limits and 8k.

Is my math correct thinking that is about 1/66 of a second, or about four times the time the A1 need for reading the 50MP sensor?
Seems close enough either way. By the available info on the web, about 4x sounds about right.

We should keep in mind that these numbers haven't been measured yet and they may be for video rather than stills and the numbers can be different. Let's wait until people get the camera in hand and measure the speed before we draw any firm conclusions.
Agreed, but I suspect we are well into the ballpark already.

Yes. that is correct. A1II is ~ 1/260s or 3.8ms
Polin is reporting 12ms so that would be a bit better if true.
Undone tested it and kept getting ~14ms. I’d say that’s likely the most accurate of the numbers floating around. This review has a number of bursts with birds flapping around and they look good. It’s certainly a lot more useable than the a7IV using ES.
I have just ordered my Sony A7 V. I hope that I will have it by next week.Would mean that my Sony A7 III finally retires. However, no dealer wanted to promise that delivery will work out next week since all of them don't really know how many copies they will receive. Who else has ordered? Any delivery dates in sight?

Polin not a fan of the EVF.
Polin says Sony says the readout is 12ms. Don't know what to believe??
It would not be surprising if it was 12ms in some video modes and a bit slower in stills mode. I hate when reviewers give a number and don't describe how they got it. I suspect that 12ms, 14ms, and 15ms will all be true in different modes (or at least if could be that way). For me what I am most interested in is still mode.
I realize I'm getting older but I long for the days when people WROTE reviews...I really hate slogging through a long video with ad interruptions to find one or two keys things I'm actually interested in.
My goal when I was younger was to be a curmudgeon and I think I've succeeded.....
Don't normally watch videos like this, but that was way better than the other one I watched yesterday. I think it was Galer, a Sony ambassador? Dry and tedious, never again for that guy...

I have also pre-ordered but my source will not disclose how many are in line and if/when I will receive it yet. That’s Ok since I’m in no rush and still deciding if it’s a camera I want to add. Used to own the A7IV but sold it awhile back when I decided to try out the A7CII which I kept for my travel bag due to its small size and image quality.
I had seen a date of Dec 18th mentioned by a gentleman here that resells from a store he works with. I bought a prior new camera from him here on FM and seems like a reliable source.

Yes, written reviews one can browse through very quickly and jump to the interested parts. But on videos, there is no way to browse through it. But maybe that's what they want? To force people through the advertisements. Anyway, I will rather wait for people's rehash about the points instead of clicking and wasting my time on those videos.

In Germany, it's said to be Dec 10th. But no one knows how many cameras they will receive at first. So they cannot tell you if you are supposed to receive one on that day or shortly after. They also don't know when the next batch will be available.

In this case, I can't agree with you. I found it very interesting to see the camera focusing in real time for an extended period. I also think that was the main purpose of the video. And I'm the kind of person who prefers to see it with my own eyes rather than having someone explain to me how eye autofocus works with birds, squirrels, etc.
But of course, everyone has different preferences.
I have youtube premium instead of any cable/television subscriptions. Totally worth it. No adds.
I have to admit, the A7V is seemingly better than I was anticipating. Used A1 was what I was considering for a backup to my A7RV, but this might be the way to go. I don't see a lot of warping / rolling shutter with these reviews in electronic shutter. Still waiting on a real stress test however.

B&H lists 18th. Two Canadian stores list 18th but another Canadian store lists 15th.
Anyways, if you are in the first batch I think 18th is a safe bet for US.

What a dismal review. 31 minutes could have been 3 minutes about the camera. Why would I want to see a review that mostly shows the reviewer walking around and close-ups of his face?

If I already own an A1 and an A7RV would there be any reason to get an A7V? The primary thing that draws me to the A7V is pre capture. Don’t really want to trade up to an A1 II because of its cost even if I sell my used A1.
