p.1 #1 · A visit to Bernardo Wildlife Area, New Mexico
While Bosque del Apache is the well known spot and was fantastic in the mornings, the Bernardo Wildlife Area seemed to be the best place to be in the afternoon through sunset. It's about a 30 minute drive from Bosque and it's wildlife drive is rather small allowing you to scout the park rather quickly. Man's influence is much more obvious in Bernardo yet there are plenty of wonderful views of the mountains, trees and open fields. This set is from our first visit and I'm skipping images from the pond with blinds that are popular at sunset to photograph the crains returning and from what I hear was not happening much. I've also left out a huge blastoff of snow geese which I've previously shown.
