In mid-September 2020, as COVID-19 restrictions eased, I spent four days exploring the wonders of Zion National Park. My main objective was to capture sunset over The Watchman from the Canyon Junction Bridge. After two days of lackluster, cloudless skies, my luck finally changed on the third evening—though the conditions brought a massive crowd of photographers that eventually forced a park ranger to clear the bridge. While others retreated or headed down to the riverbank, I stepped back but left my tripod staged in place. The moment the ranger moved on, I reclaimed my spot and quickly captured a few frames. The result is this iconic vista of the Virgin River winding toward the glowing peak of The Watchman.

Thanks Dan, the light was quite nice that day but had to rush to make images due to ranger making everyone move. Glad I was able to capture a few shots. Happy New Year 👍🏻

When it all comes together there isn't a better scene. You got it here! I wish the NP would build a walkway where photographers could spend some time there. No need to push us off the bridge.

Al, thank you for your feedback. That particular day there were too many people on the bridge and there was very little room. Especially when the shuttle buses came thru. I was happy that I was able to get couple of shots. Glad you enjoyed viewing them.
