Canon Rumors hates this camera so it's no surprise they didn't promote it on their deals zone.
The R100 has older sensor, Digic 8 tech, and no touchscreen, but I always turn off touch on my cameras anyway. I downloaded some of the RAWs from DP Review and I like the look of the files more than those of the R10 I used to own, so having the latest sensor is not always a benefit.
I bought my R100 a few years back during a Black Friday sale. With the kit lens, I think I paid $239. After selling the lens, my cost for the camera was around $160. Not bad. I was impressed how the camera focused between the metal fence and tall grass blowing in the wind. The hawk was about 400' away. The moon, a bit further

Wow, I didn't realize this lens was so capable. That moon shot has far more detail than I would have imagined. Thanks for posting... now you make me want one.

Doug, there would be more detail if I stacked several pictures, but I was happy with what a single shot produced. Keep your eyes open for the Canon Refurbished sale. They just had one. Sometimes the 800 f/11 will go on sale for $500 That's a deal
