p.1 #1 · Can anyone tell me focus mode for this shot ?
I had an OM 150-600 for an outing this summer and was not pleased with the mixed results. But I have a suspicion that I was in AF-S mode instead of AF-C for some unknown reason. I've tried searching the Exif data. That shows me a ton of information but not AF mode. I'm still trying to come up with a long lens solution and this info might help me figure things out. Anyone ??

Hey Gary, I use Photo Mechanic for culling and it will give me the Focus Mode used. Sending you a PM that you can email the raw file and I can check for you. Patrick

Hmmm. That's interesting. The series that I took that from is terrible. Over 20 shots and very few are in focus if any. That 150-600 came from MPB. I returned it after testing this summer. Possibly the lens was bad or I screwed something up. Anyways, that's a big help. Really appreciate you taking the time.
To respond to your email and for others to chime in for help,
It is alway hard to determine why a series did not catch foucus on subject. You did that so long ago that the Medadata does not tell you the real infomation you need.
On the OM-1 MK2 There are so many menu settings that you can set along with what focus pattern size, etc..
Like for one, the menu "AF" tab "2" "C-AF Settings". I like to have this set to "ALL" so IF you are using a smaller focus grid pattern and get focus, as long as you keep the shutter half pressed or full pressed the autofucus will move with the subject outside the smaller pattern. This is how the OM-1 worked with the "Tracking" feature.
The other option selection, the autofocus will be lost if subject goes outside of your selected grid size.
Way too many setup variables for you to remember back when you capatured that image.

Very true Patrick. I received the 150-600 at the same time I received the OM-1 MK ll and I went right out in the kayak with that combo the next day. I had been using the Mark 1 for well over a year. I thought I had the MK 2 set up the same as the MK 1 but there's a very good chance I missed something. I'm most likely going to give the 150-600 another go but not till spring at the earliest. I'll wait for the price to drop again, hopefully. IMHO it's still overpriced even at its current discount.
