I carried a bag of primes with me on my Western trip but my most used lens by far was this little Panasonic. Seeing how this wasn't technically a "photo trip", we were driving from Buffalo NY to Los Angeles to visit my daughter, I was literally hopping out of the car along the way, my wife sleeping in the passenger seat, and grabbing shots wherever I could. It was just too convenient to have my OM-1 and the 14-140 sitting on my lap ready to go whenever I saw something interesting. And until you get out of the car you really don't know what FL you'll need for framing purposes so I just stuck with that. When we got to Bryce I used the primes much more because I was walking along the rim trail and taking my time. I often think of upgrading to the 12-100 F4 for that little more space on the wide end, but I really like the compactness of the 14-140 and I don't know how much of a difference there would be between the two. Sounds like another lens I need to rent to give it a try

Looks very nice Gary !
9# the picture is exquisite
Regarding 12-100 pro
the biggest advantage with the 12-100 it's a pro model
the weatherproofing and the very good image stabilizer IS and full sync with the camera body .. in terms of image quality probably no major difference I think .. weight and size to the Lumix's advantage
Cost-wise, Olympus is around 500 dollars more expensive than Lumix here in Sweden. for new lenses
I like the 12-100 but , you seem to be doing just as well with this one
in my case and if I had this I probably wouldn't have made the switch is if I had Lumix and was happy with it
As I said the biggest advantage is that it is fully sync IS on 12-100
can shoot very low shutter speeds handheld

Great case for the 14-140ii Gary. The 14-140ii definitely punches above it's weight! Love mine. Re: 12-100, I will almost always carry an UW in m43 (in my case the 8-18) so I am willing to trade the 12mm for the 14mm for another lens with me, and just a little more reach with less bulk and weight when carrying.
