Has anyone had physical problems with their memory card not being recognized in the second slot on any OM or Olympus cameras? If so, was it repaired, by whom, and at what cost?
There is nothing wrong with my card and it is not any wrong setting. This happened recently. It is like something broke or disconnected in the slot.
I once had a problem with my E-M1 Mkl (I believe it was) where a very small screw had somehow backed out down in the card slot. The camera was still under warranty and Olympus repaired it at no charge.
As PV Hiker said, I would definitely take a peek in the slot with a good light. I could just be some type of 'dirty contact' issue.
Most of my Olympus/OM cameras have been very trouble free -- I hope it's something simple.
Well that is not right that your having those other issues also. Hope support can get you back in business. We have 6 of those bodies and use them capturing lots of images with no problems. We do get the occasional camera lock up that needs the battery removed and seems to work after that reset.

Thanks. Sending it back East To OM's repair agent, Sun Camera Service.
They will get back to me with an estimate on what the repairs will cost. Will post again when I get that info.
Question about dealing with OM Systems,
Has anybody had experience with OM Systems Pro Advantage program?
2019 was a member going forward for 4 years and they seem to not want to keep you as a member and make it difficult to register and contact them. My membership expired and they were not contacting me to renew. Time slips away. I have not renewed and was thinking to join again.
I went from years with Canon Professional service and was always taken care of. Their web site was easy to self manage your list of equipment and seemed to be always in contact with you about the membership. I do miss them.

Patrick, I had it for years under the Olympus banner; found the service quick and helpful when needed. Mine expired in 2020. Not sure I'm remembering right but maybe OM didn't offer it when they first took over? After not seeing it on the OM website for a while, I forgot about it. Your question prompted me to check, and they definitely offer it now, still at the same relatively low price of $199 for two years:

I had it when I was still in the US (left in 2023). Always had good and fast service and turnaround, but don’t recall when I last used it.
Thanks guys. I have not had a chance to spend time researching and folling through. But I need to get it going again. Cannon Profesional Service was great always communicating to keep you in the system.
I just got my camera back today, after they had received it on Jan. 28. They could find nothing wrong, and did not answer my questions as to how many times they tried inserting and removing a card from that slot, and no answer as to what could have caused the AF and shadow problems.
Communications from them was slow and inconsistent. Even though they are the OM repair company for Canada (Sun Camera Service), I would not use them again, nor recommend them.
