So I had read the silver 75mm 1.8 was being discontinued by OM. I was just on the website and saw that the black lens is on clearance. I couldn't resist and bought a new one (my original one is tired...). It was almost $200 off.
Does anyone know the plan? I think it's one of if not the best OM lenses made. Would be a shame if they don't replace it. I'm hoping they go the route of weather sealing and IS.

Best lens that I hardly ever use...but also wouldn't dream of selling.
I have that exact same issue, John.
My problem is that I am a dedicated zoom user and usually have the 12-100mm f/4 glued to my camera. The 75mm is such a limited use lens I just don't use it nearly enough, but refuse to ever part with it because it is such an optical jewel. It is my absolute choice for doing close up portraits of grandchildren (and great grandchildren)
I would add that it makes a superb landscape lens. I agree with Greg that I don't use mine much (though received the new one and went hog wild using it the last few days) but it's stellar.
We have a Standard Poodle (Fred) and it's a great lens for capturing his antics - fast focus, great rendering. I swear the dogs poses when he sees me with a camera. A lot more photogenic than I am....
