p.1 #1 · Photek Softlighter shaft problem

I have an older Photek Softlighter 60″ with a metal frame, but I lost the removable shaft. I also own a Photek Softlighter 46″, but its removable shaft does not fit the Photek Softlighter 60″, even though both have a 7mm shaft.
The Photek has the website but the customer service does not exist.
I was thinking to make a replacement.
What is the screw type and size used for the removable shaft of the Photek Softlighter 60″?
Please let me know. i appreciate your help.

You could just go to a hardware store like home depot and use one of their thread checking stations

Doesn't every photographer eventually need a tap and die set? .

Those sets come with thread guides for you to determine what the thread pitch is, one you know that, get some round bar the same diameter as the existing shaft and make your own threads on the round bar of your needs.

It looks like the screw pitch is less than 1 mm and closer to 0.5 mm. I doubt that I can find the appropriate gauge.

Head to your local hardware store with your umbrella and try a few bolts with the appropriate thread pitch. It is most likely SAE and not metric but who knows until you give it a try.

Once you find the right thread pitch you can make you own extended piece with some round bar and the correct tap.
