With warmer weather here in New York City I decided to see if Kissena Park had open water and if the trails were clear. The lake was open and I spent a bunch of time at it's edge and near it. This swan was swimming in the section of the lake that was open and all alone. I don't know why it's mate was not there and will see if I can find out. Possibly it's one of many birds that have succumb to the Avian Flu. All of a sudden, the swan blasted off, did a lap of the open part of the lake and landed again. I captured a good part of the flight missing some when the swan was too close. These are my picks of the images of that flight.
