Hi Joachim, I think Douglas has a good idea. You have a wonderfully evocative first image, and a moderate 2:1 ratio (cropping from top) could make it really sing, you'll still get a nice big expanse of sky.

nice set of pictures. the fence posts, the snow drift, and the road in the second picture really draw your attention from front to back and the trees are the icing on the cake. i scolled the first picture down on my screen to see what it would look like with less of the empty sky and it did appear to draw more attention to the tree with less sky. thanks for sharing.
